No. When the leg is folded down, the hardware side attached to the table base and the hardware attached to the leg itself come back together, so the leg does not touch the underside of the table when folded down. The space between the underside of the table and the folded leg is about 1/4". On another note, always use PAN HEAD screws with these brackets. The typical "cone" shaped screws will not land flush against the hardware when attaching to the base or leg, so the leg will be very wobbly.
