On the face frame mount, does this hinge have pins sticking out that centers the mount on the face frame or is it flat? My custom hickory cabs are full 3/4 inch hickory. I tried another soft close hinge That had pins on the face mount side that were a "light" 3/4 inch, and wouldn't straddle the cabinet face frame. If I tried to screw it in, it wouldn't lay flat. TIA for any info. What about the Blum 1/2 overlay soft close hinge?

You would have the same issue with the Blum hinge. Your best option would be to order our SKU # 11206536. This is the side mount version of your of this hinge. You will not have the prongs in the back of the mounting plate and this should allow your hinge to lie flat.
