The 14-5/16" is the top of the trash can. The can does taper down to 11-1/2" at the bottom.

Hi - Thanks but it's the "depth" listed above, the 9 5/16" measurement that I need to know what it tapers down to at the bottom. Not lengthwise end-to-end, BUT ACROSS the bottom side-to-side! Thanks!!
