Are these appropriate to use for a pot drawer that is approximately 28" wide? I see they are recommended for a max width of 24".

Any width after 24" and the load rating starts to drop with any slide. If the items in the drawer are not expected to be overly heavy, these should be fine. If the items in the drawer are expected to be heavy, you may want to look at 150 lb lad rated or 200 lb load rated slides
