Choose drywall screws based on drywall thickness and framing material. Use 1-1/4" coarse-thread screws for wood studs and 1-1/4" fine-thread screws for metal studs when attaching 1/2" drywall. For 5/8" drywall, use 1-5/8" screws. Match screw type to stud material for proper grip and hold.
