OSHA requires abrasive wheels to have proper guarding, ring testing before mounting, tool rest adjustment within 1/8 inch of the wheel, and tongue guards within 1/4 inch. Employers must also provide employee training and ensure wheels are rated for the grinder’s RPM under 29 CFR 1910.215.
