Use a spiral upcut bit when you need fast chip removal, deeper cuts, and strong upward cutting action in wood, plywood, MDF, or plastic. A spiral upcut bit pulls chips out of the cut, which improves cooling and reduces burning. It works best for grooves, dadoes, mortises, and CNC cutting, but it can lift and fray top edges.
