Spiral router bits are worth it when you need cleaner cuts, faster chip removal, and longer edge life than straight bits. Their shear-cutting action reduces tear-out in plywood, hardwood, MDF, and laminate. They cost more, but they improve cut quality, especially for grooves, mortises, flush trimming, and CNC work.
