LED dimmer switches work by rapidly adjusting the electrical power sent to compatible LED lights. Most dimmers use phase-cut control to shorten each AC waveform and reduce brightness. The LED driver converts this altered input into lower light output. Proper dimming requires dimmable LEDs and a compatible leading-edge, trailing-edge, or low-voltage dimmer.
