2. Q: Does Woodworker Express charge sales tax?

A: Woodworker Express is required by law to collect sales tax on orders shipped to the states listed on our Sales Tax (opens in new window) page. If you are shipping to any of these states, the appropriate charges will be added to your merchandise total and displayed on your final order confirmation.

Important Sales Tax Information
We do not collect sales or use taxes in all states. For states imposing sales or use taxes, your purchase is subject to use tax unless it is specifically exempt from taxation. Your purchase is not exempt merely because it is made over the Internet or by other remote means. Many states require purchasers to file a sales/use tax return at the end of the year reporting all of the taxable purchases that were not taxed and to pay tax on those purchases. Details of how to file these returns may be found at the websites of your respective taxing authorities.

Returns

1. Q: I would like to return my purchase, what is your return policy?

A: If you are not satisfied for any reason, products may be returned within 30 days of shipment for a full credit or exchange (provided the product is undamaged). Return documentation should clearly specify a request for credit or exchange.

Returned items must be in the original packaging.

All returns must include a Return Authorization (RA) number that can be obtained by visiting our website and logging into your account. Then, visit the order history page within your account. Find the order and select the items to return. Supply your reasons for the return and submit the return request. Write the RA number on the outside of the box before sending in your return.

Please include a copy of the original order confirmation or packing slip with your RA paperwork as proof of purchase.

Returns received at Woodworker Express without a RA number may be assessed a 20% restocking (processing) fee within 30 days of purchase. To avoid a restocking fee, exchange the returned merchandise for merchandise of equal value at the time of return.

2. Q: What is the difference between Oil-Rubbed Bronze, Bronze with Copper Highlights, and Verona Bronze?

A: There is no difference between Oil-Rubbed Bronze, Bronze with Copper Highlights, and Verona Bronze. All of these are different vendors' ways of saying the same thing. With the exception of the Berenson product line, these are all variations of the same type of finish. Berenson has Oil-Rubbed Bronze and Verona Bronze finishes where their Oil-Rubbed Bronze does not have highlights and their Verona Bronze is Oil-Rubbed Bronze with highlights.

6. Q: What is Zamak?

A: Zamak is 95% of the purest zinc. Plus aluminum, magnesium, and copper in a standardized combination to make a stronger and harder metal than zinc alone.

The invention of Zamak is a great American story of ingenuity. Developed and trademarked by the New Jersey Zinc Company in 1929, it is a combination of the purest zinc plus aluminum, magnesium, and copper. The name Zamak is an acronym of German words for the metals Zink (zinc), aluminum (aluminum), Magnesium (magnesium), and Kupfer (copper). Today, there are several different Zamak alloys. With over 70% share, Zamak 3 is the most common Zamak used in the United States for die-casting metal parts in many industries. Schwinn hardware is made with Zamak 5 which has additional copper to make it stronger and harder than Zamak 3.
